• Minimum B.S. Degree
• Certification in Special Education
• Working knowledge of computer and student information software

• Principal or Principal's designee / Special Education Coordinator

• Determine individual and class needs.
• Supervises students
• Establish objectives and plan learning experiences.
• Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
• Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
• Exhibit positive human relations skills.
• Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress.
• Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication.
• Maintains and submit records and reports.
• Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.
• Engage in personal professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership.
• The planning and conduct of daily learning activities within the classroom as defined by the State Course of Study and the Board of Education.
• Shall perform any other job or school related duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor.
• Maintain the confidentiality of student records.

• Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule.

• Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
