Summary:

Cooperative Extensionat Alabama A&MUniversity(AAMU) seeksapplicationsforthepositionof

Program

Coordinator for the Virginia Caples Lifelong Learning Institute (VCLLI).This is a term-limited, grant funded, 12-month’s/year full-time position in the Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) position will be located on the Alabama A&M University Campus with possible travel to other counties in the State.

UndertheguidanceoftheVCLLI Site Director,the Heirs’ Property Program Coordinatorwillsupportthe  development, implementation, and evaluation of the project through the grant cycle.

The Heirs’ Property Program Coordinatorassistswiththeschedulingandorganizationoftrainingevents ,developmentofprogram surveysandevaluations,andcollectionofdatatoassessprogramneedsandimpactinassignedareas.

Thispositionmaycollaboratewith Extension agents,County Extension Coordinators (CECs),andprofessionalagenciesinthestate.

The Heirs’ Property Program Coordinatorworksunderthedirectsupervisionofthe VCLLI Site Director at

AlabamaA&MUniversity.

Continuationofemploymentisbasedonprogramneedsandavailabilityoffunding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Theessentialfunctionsarerepresentativeofmajordutiesofpositionsinthisjobclassification.

Specificdutiesandresponsibilitiesmayvarybasedupondepartmental needs.

Other dutiesmaybeassignedsimilartothelistbelowandconsistentwiththeknowledge,skills,andabilitiesrequiredfor thejob.

Not all duties may be assigned to a position.

  • Assists the Principal Investigatorwiththedevelopment ,implementation,andevaluationoftheprojectthroughtheentiregrantcycle(planningtoreporting).
  • Supports Principal Investigatoron  developmentofeducationalresources toaddresstheneedsofthetargetaudiencewith title opinions, genealogy research, etc.
  • Initiatesandestablishesgoodworkingrelationships withpartneringagenciesand/orcoalitions,other professional organizations,and universities inthedevelopmentandutilizationofeducational materialsandresources.
  • Assists with the development of marketing plans and various publications.
  • Coordinates programs targeted to landowners to assist with prevention and resolution of heirs’ property; assesses program needs, organizes program material; evaluates program success.
  • Facilitates meetings with Landowners and partners to address needs and problem areas.
  • Assistswithschedulingofpartnershipmeetings.
  • Maintainsprogram data,participant data,andinventoryrecords.
  • Maintainscompliancewithuniversity,stateandfederal policiesandregulationsrelatedtograntimplementation.
  • Activelymanagescalendar,maintains healthy and timely communication with supervisor and participates in all in-service training, Extension meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Supports the development of community partnerships to extend the reach of programmatic activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum

Position Requirements (includingyearsofexperience, certifications,licenses,etc.):
  • B.S.in Business

    Administration,Public Administration,Consumer Economics, Pre-Law, Sociology, Social Work,orrelateddiscipline.
  • Demonstratedskillsinworkingwithlimited-resource and/or minorityaudiences.
  • Experienceinprojectmanagementanddemonstratedexperienceinbuildingpartnerships.
  • Avaliddriver'slicense,andaccesstoreliabletransportationtotraveltoandfromprogram sites.(Mileagereimbursementisprovided.)
  • Ability to work up to 50% of the time on Evenings and Weekends with occasional travel utilizing a state vehicle or personal transportation with mileage reimbursement.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred M.S. in related disciplines
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively communicate oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and provide timely reports, use good judgment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to self-initiate partnerships and manage a productive work schedule based on those partnerships.
  • Demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness.
