Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Auditing:
    Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across both plants to ensure 100% compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Alabama state regulations.
  • Hazard Mitigation:
    Identify and remediate hazards specific to store fixture manufacturing, including machine guarding for wood/metal saws, proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) during maintenance, and ventilation for finishing/painting areas.
  • Training & Engagement:
    Develop and deliver safety training programs, including new‑hire orientation, forklift certification, and periodic "toolbox talks" on ergonomics and proper lifting.
  • Incident Management:
    Lead root‑cause investigations for all accidents or near‑misses and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Recordkeeping:
    Maintain all required documentation, including OSHA 300 logs, safety data sheets (SDS), and equipment maintenance records.
  • Safety KPI Management:
    Track leading and lagging indicators to evaluate data and set improvement goals.
  • Safety Committee Leadership:
    Establish and facilitate active safety committees at both locations to empower employees to participate in safety improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
  • Experience:

    5+ years of safety management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in furniture or fixture production.
  • Certifications:

    Professional certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) is highly preferred.
  • Skills:

    Deep technical knowledge of OSHA 1910 standards, strong analytical problem‑solving abilities, and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Travel:
    Ability to travel regularly between the two Alabama facility locations.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to walk and stand on manufacturing floors for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working around heavy machinery, in varying temperatures, and wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
