Field Service Power Generation Technician

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Columbia, MO

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Completing repair activities on generators or components
• Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of service
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.
• High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.
• Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.
• Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.
• Basic Diesel Engine experience.
• Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

• Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)
• Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
• Current relevant electrical certification
• Locally valid driving permit
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

• Minimal level of workshop related experience required.
• Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products
• High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience

This roll will require a CDL Drivers License at time of hire or within 6 months on filling the role.

Our business hours are 7:30 AM - 4 PM M-F. This FSPG role Hrs may flex depending on customer needs. This role will also require tech to be on Call once we have trained and feel comfortable with skill level.

• A current valid CDL is required for this role.
• This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations.
• This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing.
• This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). role is subject to Department of Transportation  regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.
• Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.
