Traffic Engineer I Position Overview
This is a journey level professional and administrative position focused on addressing traffic and transportation issues. Responsibilities include planning, designing, and inspecting projects according to applicable laws, regulations, and standards, evaluating traffic engineering and transportation projects, and developing systems and plans to facilitate efficient and safe traffic movement and control, prevent accidents, and ensure adequate street lighting.
Qualifications andSpecial Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Traffic Engineering from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- E.I.T. Certificate in the State of Alabama or E.I.T. within eighteen (18) months of hire date.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Desired
Qualifications:
Two (2) years of progressive civil engineering or traffic engineering experience.
