WhatYou Will Do
- Geartrain component design of rotating shafts, torque split devices, couplings, and clutches
- Geartrain modeling to evaluate geartrain noise, efficiency, durability, reliability
- Spline sizing and load rating
- Bearing load analysis and life rating
- Establish bearing and gear mesh lubrication requirements
- Establish gear mesh and bearing alignment requirements
- 2D and 3D modeling utilizing CAD software
- Statistical analysis for component stack-up
- Component level testing for performance, durability, reliability, and variability
- Geartrain component quality troubleshooting resulting in supplier corrective action
- Prior geartrain design and analysis experience from concept through production ramp
- Experience in rotating machinery design including gears, bearings, and tribology analysis
- Strong fundamental knowledge of statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials
- Geartrain system modeling experience utilizing Romax, Masta, Transmission3D, Kiss Soft or equivalent
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and product lifecycle management (PLM). Catia preferred but not required
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or equivalent programming language
- Strong fundamental understanding of material properties, heat treatment, and gear manufacturing methods
- Experience with finite element analysis for evaluating stress, strain, and modal response
The salary for this position ranges from $170,000 – $235,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
