Client

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician to support operations at our power generation facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and configuring control systems and instrumentation to ensure safe and efficient plant performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with DCS, PLCs, and turbine control systems, along with strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control systems
- Support daily operations of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Turbine Control Systems (TCS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Perform diagnostics and corrective actions on control system issues to minimize downtime
- Assist in configuring and updating control programs and logic
- Interpret and work from control schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Respond to call-out assignments on a rotating weekly basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Support plant startup, shutdown, and operational procedures as required
- Communicate effectively with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment and safe practices
- Associate degree in Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field; OR a two-year technical certification; OR equivalent experience in I&C systems
- Strong working knowledge of DCS, TCS, and PLC systems
- Experience with Emerson Ovation is preferred
- Familiarity with GE Mark VIe is a plus
- Ability to understand boiler controls and power plant systems
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork orientation and ability to work independently under pressure
- A four-year degree from an ABET-accredited program in Electrical, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering
- Willingness and availability for rotating on-call responsibilities, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (e.g., confined spaces, elevated work areas, temperature extremes)
