The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Plant Engineering Manager you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Leading and managing Plant Engineering, Utilities, and Facilities functions to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards and uninterrupted operations.
- Driving continuous improvement projects, investigating alternative technologies, and introducing best practices to enhance plant performance.
- Managing capital and expense budgets, resources, and workforce planning, ensuring optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Supervising installation, commissioning, and maintenance of production and utility equipment to support production targets.
- Collaborating cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Process Engineering, HSE, Materials, Warehousing, and Lean/CI teams to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
- Providing technical expertise, guidance, and training to subordinates on critical Plant Engineering KPIs and practices. Implementing and ensuring use of a Reliability Framework and Asset Management System to drive continual improvements.
- Managing contracts and vendor relationships associated with plant engineering and maintenance services.
- Managing capital funds execution and budget for the site.
- Developing self and others at multiple levels of the organization, continually improving and striving for excellence through supervision, recognition, policy and regulatory/safety/legal compliance.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
- Seven (7) years of manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
- Five (5) years of supervisory and/or management experience in a private, public, government or military
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Three (3) years of manufacturing maintenance/reliability experience
- Experience managing large-scale engineering budgets, including planning, allocation, and cost-control oversight for complex plant operations.
- Secondary Degree or higher in Engineering or related Technical Field (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution preferred.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and developing Supervisors as well as their peers and influencing higher levels of the organization.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Lean/Continuous Improvement.
- Basic understanding of Environmental and Regulatory Compliance, NFPA, and OSHA standards.
- Certified Reliability Leader (CRL), Certified Maintenance Manager, Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional, RE or CAMA certification.

The expected compensation range for this position is $188,251 - $230,084, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
