This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for an Instrument Operator
- Surveying for our Valhalla, NY office. Be involved in our Geospatial Survey team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
- Candidate can expect to be a supporting role for work on a wide variety of projects including transportation, environmental, water/wastewater, commercial, residential, solid waste, and energy from rural areas to urban areas.
- Utilize survey instruments to perform field surveys.
- Comply with safety guidelines and site‑specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
- Complete training on assigned tasks.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 0-2+ years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license. Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Must possess a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outside in all climates.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to a technical and non‑technical audience.
- Effective self‑leadership with attention to detail, ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow instruction, and comply with company policies.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project‑specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Degree from a survey program
- 1-2 years of survey experience

Compensation:
Expected Salary (all locations): $41,000.00 - $67,760.00
