Job Summary
This position is responsible for developing a loan portfolio and promoting the Bank’s products and services to potential customers. The role evaluates and recommends approval of consumer loan applications, generates referrals, and develops relationships with new and existing clients.
Responsibilities- Adhere to loan policy and procedures set forth by the bank.
- Gather pertinent information for loan applications, interview applicants to determine loan requirements, and request credit reports, reference checks, and other evaluative information.
- Analyze applicant financial status, credit, and asset evaluation to determine feasibility of granting a loan.
- Compile loan packages and facilitate negotiation of loan structure with applicants, including fees, repayment options, and other credit terms.
- Ensure loan agreements are complete and accurate according to establishment policy.
- Ensure timely loan closing and funding activities.
- Identify and analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for consumer loans.
- Advise loan manager of external factors that may affect lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations.
- Promote and cross‑sell other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements.
- Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services and credit bureau data.
- Determine the need for additional investigation or information and contact appropriate sources.
- Analyze financial statements and related materials, prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions concerning creditworthiness and debt service ability to loan officers or committees.
- Periodic review of credit, loan, and collateral files to ensure information is current and report any difficulties to loan officers.
- Monitor files to assure up‑to‑date financial statements, accounts receivable, aging, and other items are available for all credits requiring such information.
- Assist in other credit risk management functions such as loan review, construction loan monitoring, borrower base review, and related items.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as finance or business administration, or three‑five years of related experience in a commercial credit analyst role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred experience with CRE and C&I with demonstrable understanding of CAPEX, EBITDA, cap rate, and other financial analysis functions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Ability to interpret a variety of written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, customers, and the public.
- Ability to calculate basic math figures and amounts, and to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software.
This position may require long periods of standing or sitting and may include long periods of typing and repetitive motion. Candidates must be able to lift and carry items such as cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing up to 25 pounds.
