Indirect Specialist

Increase the Credit Union's portfolio of loans and other financial services initiated through relationships with auto dealers and other retail businesses capable of extending the Credit Union services to members and potential members.

• Process and decide indirect dealer applications and communicate loan decisions to dealerships in a timely manner.
• Responsible for funding, auditing and maintaining indirect loan contracts to verify accuracy of information, compliance with policies and procedures, and adherence to America's First underwriting guidelines.
• Call on area dealerships and businesses to establish and maintain indirect lending channels. Promote use of Credit Union's loan service and other financial services among dealer/retail network. Train finance personnel at dealerships and staff within the credit union to ensure everyone is knowledgeable about the program requirements and procedures. Monitor program and act as liaison between the Credit Union and dealer/retail network.
• Perform other job related duties as assigned.

• Ensure all activities in the department are carried out in compliance with all Federal, State and Credit Union regulations within prescribed time frames, with zero unresolved errors and no errors that result in losses to the credit union.
• Develop and maintain a reputation as a premier partner within the dealer network by visiting dealerships regularly, ensuring loans are underwritten timely using department standards, notifying dealers of decisions with associated stipulations, and funding contracts daily within time guidelines as set by management.
• Meet or exceed operational objectives with respect to accuracy, application response turnaround times, contract funding times, and loan growth through the indirect lending program.
• Ensure the department meets 100% of established goals.

• Experience:
  
  Three to five years of similar or related experience.
• Education:
  
  High school education or GED.

  Extensive personal contact with others; motivated, influencing, and training others; fostering relationships with external entities; influencing and selling ideas or services to others.

  Excellent communication skills for dealing with dealer departments and members; detail oriented for accurate loan contract auditing; proficiency with lending function and a satisfactory lending record and portfolio; ability to learn various software packages; excellent member service skills.

Light lifting required.

Must be able to visit dealerships to promote the indirect department and programs; attend auto/boat shows and various dealer events outside normal working hours; work a flexible schedule, including limited Saturdays and/or holidays on a rotating basis as needed.
