Supervisory Strategic Communications Specialist Security Clearance

Position: SUPERVISORY STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST with Security Clearance

Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Communication and Outreach Directorate, Headquarters Air University. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and communication objectives for all of Air University.
* Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
* Represents the Air University with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
* Serves as a senior advisor, analyst, and technical expert on a wide range of issues related to communication, including but not limited to strategy development and communication planning, organizational change, organizational culture, private sector engagement and best practices, Congressional activities, publics peaking and professional writing supporting Air University.
* As a strategic advisor to the Commander the incumbent applies a working knowledge of research methodologies coupled with a high level of expertise in communication skills and strategic thinking to incorporate historical and factual analysis in support of both the Commander's presentations and decision making. * Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
* Special Sensitive Security Clearances. The investigative requirement CANNOT be waived for special sensitive positions. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TOP SECRET (TS/SCI) clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* A one (1) year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
* This is a centrally managed position.
* This is a key position. Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available. The incumbent may be required to take part in test alerts and practice exercises.
* Mobilization-key position is a key position under the provisions of AFI 36-202, civilian mobility.
