Position: Lead Police Officer with Security Clearance
Location: Fort Novosel

Duties
* Lead a patrol team of three or more officers, including Department of Army Civilian Police (DACP), Military
* Police (MP) and Department of Army Security Guards (DASG).
* Provide direct oversight of all stages of investigations conducted by assigned DACP and MP personnel.
* Provide sworn testimony based on investigative findings.
* Reports team performance and training needs to leadership.
* Conduct various law enforcement training programs for military and civilian personnel on the installation. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Incumbent must be able to successfully graduate from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
* Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations or statutes.
* Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56 such as pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation, Physical Agility Test within 60 days of hire, comply and maintain requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
* This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) and is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. IAW AR 600-85, a DA 5019R Condition of Employment must be signed for mandatory drug testing.
* Position is covered by the Lautenberg Amendment. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position. Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony.
* Incumbent in this position is designated as Mission Essential (IAW DODI 3024.42 and DTM 17-004) position during Inclement Weather Conditions or other designed/identified emergency conditions.
* Incumbent must possess a valid state driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a government motor vehicle operator's license.
* Incumbent must be able obtain and maintain a valid Tier 3 (Secret) security investigation.
* Position requires working of irregular and/or rotating shifts, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbent is required to work overtime as directed and is subject to recall for emergency overtime.
* Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time may be required.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service;
2) Utilizing search and arrest authority;
3) Conducting traffic patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer; and
4) Utilizing computer-based systems for incident reporting and case documentation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments;

in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted Additional information
