SUMMARY:
PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
To serve as an Air Force Senior Wargame Program Specialist delivering "world class" wargames to the customer while providing oversight and program management for elements of the US Air Force Wargaming Enterprise and the Air Force Chief of Staff's "think tank." Incumbent will be responsible for every aspect of the wargame. Wide-ranging wargame options are selected or recommended such that the optimum wargame design for a given project is achieved dealing specifically with the designated operational area(s) for research.
All wargame background and support material is either created or incorporated as appropriate to include specific order of battle information as well as a tailor-made scenario and wargame construct. The incumbent will need to manage the wargame execution, interpret relevant data and offer counsel for general officers or appointed representative to steer the wargame in the direction that maximizes lessons learned and helps senior military leaders turn challenges into choices.
After action wargame analysis and reporting is conducted or supported as required. DUTIES:
* Program Administrator for the Air Force Wargame Enterprise process, wargame reporting, and senior leader support.
* Facilitates subject matter experts (SME) and serves as a SME in overall participation for ongoing wargames.
* Ensures that inputs from Wargaming Enterprise are accurately and effectively integrated for appropriate Strategic Planning and Programming Processes.
* Maintains a continuous liaison with appropriate Air Staff, OSD, Joint Staff, other Service, and other DoD offices to ensure informed decision-making by senior Air Force leadership. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* May travel by military or commercial air to conferences, meetings, or other functions away from the duty site to potentially include overseas travel.
* A bachelor's degree is highly desired. A master's degree in national security affairs, international relations, business administration, engineering, operations research, technical discipline, or a related field is desired.
* Previous military-related work experience desirable.
* Completion of intermediate developmental education desired.
* Employee may be required to work overtime or an irregular work shift.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
* Employee must be a US citizen. Qualifications CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT (CONTINUED):
* This position is designated by the Air Force as a Test Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. As a mandatory requirement for employment in this TDP, the incumbent is (A) to refrain from use of illegal drugs and (B) if required, to submit to urinalysis testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive position presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:
In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIZED experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions
- Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series (0301) SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 (or higher) grade level or equivalent (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Examples of specialized experience include Expert Knowledge of a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods pertinent to wargaming for assessment and improvement of critical plans and programs for participating in or conducting strategy initiatives for joint strategic planning decisions.
Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the future operating environments and military capabilities. Comprehensive understanding of AF Wargames;
