Position SummaryAs an Environment Services Worker / Housekeeper, you will be responsible for cleaning duties that maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. This role may be assigned to any one of several positions, including patient areas cleaner, non‑patient areas cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, or other needed positions. You will maintain a professional demeanor in accordance with service excellence standards while interacting with patients, their families (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and coworkers.
Job Duties / ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for cleaning and servicing areas in the building according to the assignments for that area. Assignments include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting any and all rooms in the hospital. You may participate in project work that may include wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, cleaning upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, carpet extraction, etc.
Additional expectations include: willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks continually; accept supervision from multiple persons; perform tasks despite frequent interruptions; consider patient, staff, and visitor needs; work under close supervision performing simple, standardized tasks; work within safety policies and procedures; immediately report any unsafe conditions or hazards.
