Location: Larkwood
We are hiring for a Direct Support Specialist on a 7 on/7 off shift (regular). The role involves supporting individuals with intellectual, developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges.
Job Responsibilities- Assist with Health and Safety Procedures
- Assist with People Supported Development
- Assist with Person Supported Community Life
- Provide support to team members and supervisors
- Assist with person-centered plans and outcomes
- Assist with medical requests
- Assist with data collection and reporting
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Valid driver’s license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Physical requirements:
lift 30 lbs regularly, lift a minimum of 70 lbs, pull a minimum of 50 lbs, perform squats, kneels, crawls, crouches, climbs, and stops, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls, regularly stand and walk, demonstrate CPR proficiency from floor level (working on hands, knees, bending, standing, and lifting) - Vision requirements: close, distance, and peripheral vision
- Pre‑employment screening: criminal background check (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities), drug testing, education verification, and other credentialing required for the position
- Proof of employment history or references (if required)
- For positions that require driving: proof of driver’s license, driver’s insurance, and a suitable vehicle (if required for transporting individuals)
