Responsibilities- Support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within the store.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and provide caring service that exceeds patient expectations.
- Operate as part of the pharmacy team through adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), best practices, and effective communication.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive culture where all people feel valued and empowered.
- Complete a rigorous company training program and satisfy all registration, licensing, and certification requirements according to State Board of Pharmacy guidelines until the Technician is fully licensed.
- Fulfill duties as required by the Pharmacy Manager, including but not limited to inventory activities, prescription fulfillment, customer service, and operating across multiple workstations (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off).
- Deliver additional patient health care services where allowed by law and supported by required training and certification (e.g., immunizations and point-of-care testing).
- Support immunizations when permissible, including licensure and training for Technician Immunizer status, educating patients about vaccines, monitoring for adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
- Must comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification. If the state board does not mandate a minimum age, candidate must be at least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in high school or a high school equivalency program (where not addressed by state requirements).
- State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot between tasks, and ensure prescription information labeling accuracy for patient safety.
- Customer Service and Team Orientation: proactively help others and respond to patients’ reactions appropriately.
- Communication
Skills:
clear verbal and written interaction with patients and colleagues; active listening. - Mathematical Reasoning: perform calculations for prescriptions (e.g., days’ supply, quantities).
- Problem Resolution: identify and address challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger work, visual acuity, and the ability to handle various physical tasks; occasional up to 20 lbs lift; frequent up to 10 lbs lift.
- Receive and convey detailed information through oral communication.
- Other tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade. Actual base salary offers depend on experience, education, geography and other factors.
