• Patient Care Execution:
  Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, a COTA is responsible for executing therapeutic plans, teaching patients how to use adaptive equipment, guiding them through exercises, and engaging them in activities crucial to recovery.
• Activity and Program Planning:
  Contributes to planning and selecting therapeutic activities tailored to each patient’s needs, applying creative and practical approaches to meet therapeutic goals.
• Progress Monitoring:
  Regularly monitors and documents patient progress, observes performance changes, reports observations, and adjusts interventions for continuous improvement.
• Patient and Family
  
  Education:
  
  Educates patients and families about therapy processes, adaptive equipment use, and home modifications, providing clear instructions to support home‑based practices.

• Degree in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current license/certification in the state of practice
