- Pharmacy Technician License for State of Massachusetts (required)
- PTCB – National Certification required for Acute Care (required)
- Previous pharmacy technician experience (required)

- Support dispensing and restocking functions from the central pharmacy to patient care, OR, and procedural areas utilizing automated inventory dispensing machines (e.g., carousel) and cabinets (e.g., Pyxis/Anesthesia Pyxis machines) as well as various medication trays and carts and essential non‑sterile compounding (USP 795) tasks.
- Operate all pharmacy automation and technology in accordance with policy, procedures, and manufacturing instructions to support inventory management, drug preparation, and dispensing processes across all medication storage locations (patient care units, ORs, procedural areas, trays, kits, code carts, etc.).
- Demonstrate proficiency in the management and distribution of all trays and kits prepared/managed by the pharmacy.
- Demonstrate proficiency in general non-sterile compounding procedures (compounding oral liquids, packaging oral solids, and labeling and documentation as required for dispensing).
- Assist the purchasing staff with functions related to drug purchasing and inventory control as needed.
- Maintain a working knowledge of medication error prevention methods and handling/preparation techniques for high-risk or high-alert medications, including LASA medications.
- Participate in the Unit Inspection process to ensure medication storage areas meet regular requirements and medication inventory is accurate and appropriate for use.
- Participate in medication/safety event reporting and resolutions as appropriate.
- Interact effectively with other members of the department and health care team, maintain attentiveness to the rights of patients, confidentiality of patient information, triage orders, determine priorities, process orders, and notify the pharmacist as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with the team and external colleagues, including receiving/referring incoming calls to the pharmacy window.
- Participate in the BH staff development program – Performance Evaluation (PE) and work to meet departmental, professional, and personal goals.
- Participate in the training and/or orientation of new pharmacy employees as needed.
- Be aware of and follow BH attendance policy.
- Support quality and safety initiatives, including participation in unit inspection, medication error prevention, safety events, and continuous improvement efforts.

Minimum – Midpoint – Maximum: $19.29 – $24.43 – $31.91 (hourly for non‑exempt employees, based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees).

The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.
