About the Role:
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Bibb Medical Center plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare team by providing direct patient care and assisting with clinical tasks. This position ensures that patients receive compassionate, high-quality care while maintaining safety and comfort throughout their hospital stay. The technician collaborates closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to monitor patient conditions and report any changes promptly.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver license or photo
- Experience working in a hospital or acute care setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as a Patient Care Technician or Patient Care Assistant
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills developed through prior healthcare experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and clinical areas by following infection control guidelines.
- Assist with transporting patients to different hospital departments as needed.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests, providing timely assistance.
