Pay: $48,000 - $65,000 per year (based on licensure, credentials, and experience)

Are you passionate about helping individuals overcome substance use and mental health challenges? Pyramid Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Counselor to join our clinical team at our Harford County Inpatient Treatment Facility in Joppa, Maryland.

As a Counselor, you will provide comprehensive clinical services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and other behavioral health concerns. Working alongside an interdisciplinary treatment team, you will support clients through every stage of the recovery process by helping them develop the skills, coping strategies, and support systems necessary to achieve long‑term wellness and sustained recovery.

What You’ll Do

As a Counselor, you will:

  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments and evaluate the behavioral, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social needs of clients.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Provide individual counseling, group counseling, family sessions, and psycho educational programming.
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups utilizing evidence‑based practices and interventions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Coordinate care with referral sources, medical providers, community agencies, and external stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and case reviews.
  • Assist with utilization review processes and continued‑stay authorizations.
  • Support discharge planning, aftercare coordination, relapse prevention planning, and continuity of care efforts.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and level‑of‑care determinations as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for clients experiencing acute behavioral health concerns.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and other program responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in accordance with ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Complete all required trainings and maintain compliance with company, licensing, and accreditation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
