Executive Summary

Springhill Suites Hampton – MCR Standard for cleanliness and friendliness. The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well‑organized, and safe hotels for our guests.

Responsibilities
  • Happy Guests
    • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
    • Use guests’ names whenever possible to create a welcoming experience.
    • Contribute to excellent guest satisfaction scores and handle challenging situations with hospitality and urgency.
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of all hotel features and amenities.
    • Participate in all hotel events and support groups and events.
    • Understand and use relevant technology for each role.
    • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Spotless Cleanliness
    • Maintain sparkling clean work spaces in both front and back of the house.
    • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed to keep the hotel well‑organized and safe.
    • Greet guests with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Product Consistency & Quality
    • Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time each shift.
    • Submit accurate hand‑over reports for shift transitions.
    • Wear a clean, approved uniform, be well‑groomed, correctly wear a name tag, and smile at all times.
  • Teamwork
    • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
    • Demonstrate a can‑do attitude and be willing to stretch beyond the traditional role to meet business needs and guest expectations.
    • Collaborate at all levels to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective workplace.
  • Engineer – Role Specific Duties
    • Respond to and document all repair requests from guests using the electronic work order platform.
    • Keep all room and public space preventative maintenance up to date according to the hotel‑provided PM program.
    • Follow all safety and health codes, including pool and spa area health codes, and report any emergency or life‑safety concerns to the supervisor or general manager.
    • Conduct full property walks at minimum at the beginning and end of the scheduled shift, documenting and addressing any maintenance needs.
    • Maintain clean and well‑organized maintenance areas throughout the shift and before departure.
Success Metrics
  • Happy Guests – Management performance ratings, guest satisfaction scores/intent to return.
  • Spotless Cleanliness – GM/AGM spot checks, leadership walk‑throughs, guest ratings/reviews.
  • Product Consistency & Quality – Checklist tracking, management performance ratings, guest ratings.
  • Teamwork – Management performance ratings.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Technical, trade or vocational school degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a commercial facility, hospitality or related field.
  • Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work well under stress and high‑pressure situations.
  • Effective listening, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on hotel demand.
  • Must arrive, clock in and out on time for every shift; never work off the clock unless directed by a supervisor.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at designated times.
  • Provide sufficient notice when calling out for a scheduled shift.
Physical Working Demands & Working Environment
  • Climbing:
    Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles.
  • Balancing:
    Maintain equilibrium on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces.
  • Stooping:
    Bend lower body at waist using lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling:
    Bend knees to rest on one or both knees.
  • Crawling:
    Move on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Standing:
    Remain upright for sustained periods.
  • Walking:
    Move about on foot, including long distances or between work sites.
  • Repetitive Motions:
    Perform substantial wrist, hand, and/or finger movements.
  • Lifting:
    Raise objects up to 50+ lbs.
