Hanon Systems is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support our Alabama manufacturing plant. This role is responsible for the accurate processing of payroll and the administration of employee benefit programs, while serving as a key HR resource for plant employees. The ideal candidate is highly organized, confidential, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
Primary Responsibilities Payroll Administration- Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure accurate timekeeping, overtime calculations, shift differentials, and payroll deductions
- Maintain payroll records and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Coordinate payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, promotions, and leaves of absence
- Partner with corporate payroll and finance teams to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy
- Administer employee benefit programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and enrollment support
- Manage open enrollment, life event changes, and benefit audits
- Coordinate with benefit vendors and carriers to resolve eligibility and claim issues
- Maintain accurate benefit records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations (ACA, COBRA, FMLA, etc.)
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to payroll and benefits
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of employee data
- Assist with audits, reporting, and compliance requirements
- Provide day-to-day HR support to plant leadership and employees as needed
- 2–5 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration (manufacturing or plant environment preferred)
- Working knowledge of payroll laws and benefit compliance requirements
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (ADP or similar preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
