Full-time Description

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist - 1st Shift plays a key role in supporting daily human resources operations by fostering a safe, compliant, and employee-focused workplace. This role partners closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership to provide guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management while ensuring alignment with Schnellecke Logistics’ values and operational standards.

This position supports a multi-shift logistics operation and serves as a liaison between local HR, corporate HR, payroll, and operations to ensure consistent communication, accurate data management, and timely resolution of employee matters.

What you’ll do:
  • Execute company values, policies, and HR standards to support a safe and compliant work environment
  • Maintain accurate and complete employee files, including personal data, compensation, benefits, payroll, tax records, attendance, performance evaluations, and termination documentation
  • Support onboarding processes and develop and deliver employee orientation programs
  • Ensure new hires are assigned based on operational needs and properly equipped with the required information and safety equipment
  • Provide orientation training and ensure completion of induction and training records
  • Explain employee benefit programs and serve as a liaison between employees and internal HR or benefit providers
  • Maintain and manage employee data within HR systems, including updates to SKA 360 and biometric employee data
  • Process employee status changes, including hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Compile attendance data, monitor trends, and implement initiatives to improve attendance performance
  • Provide coaching and guidance to employees and leaders on HR policies, performance management, and workplace concerns
  • Assist with disciplinary processes and ensure fair and consistent application of company policies
  • Support employee relations activities, including investigations, conflict resolution, and engagement initiatives
  • Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and support initiatives to improve engagement and workplace culture
  • Maintain internal communications related to events, announcements, and organizational updates
  • Serve as a liaison between HR, payroll, and operations to ensure alignment and timely issue resolution
  • Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Maintain high standards of workplace organization and housekeeping within HR areas
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices and always ensure compliance with all safety policies
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and ethical standards
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employees and organizational information
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business needs
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Demonstrated ethical judgment and employee-focused mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in both office and warehouse or plant environments
  • Frequent interaction with employees, leadership, and cross-functional teams
  • May require schedule flexibility to support multiple shifts and operational demands
  • Exposure to operational environments, including noise, equipment, and varying conditions
  • Requires the ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
