IT Operations Administrator Job Summary
The IT Operations Administrator is responsible for executing daily IT operations, including technical support, system administration, device provisioning, and infrastructure maintenance. This role ensures reliable system performance, supports employees, and assists in maintaining security and operational standards. Serves as the first point of contact for all IT support requests.
Duties/Responsibilities- Provide technical support for employees by identifying, investigating, and resolving software, hardware, and network issues.
- Oversee daily IT operations, including network administration, phone systems, and audio/visual systems.
- Maintain and manage local infrastructure services (file servers, print servers, application hosting).
- Configure laptops, phones, tablets and systems for new hires and exiting employees.
- Manage IT-related onboarding functions, including account setup, hardware/software provisioning, and employee technology orientation.
- Collaborate with vendors and ensure all systems, software, licenses and security measures remain up to date.
- Assist in maintaining cybersecurity tools and systems under the direction of the IT Manager.
- Execute system updates, patches, and routine maintenance.
- Support documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Support implementation of policies, procedures, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans.
- Assist with compliance preparation and audits as directed by the IT Manager.
- Identify and report opportunities for improving system performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Support special projects as assigned by the CFO/COO.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Working knowledge of IT systems, cybersecurity, and digital workplace tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Understanding of business operations and vendor coordination.
- Ability to work effectively and collaborate with employees, leadership, and external partners.
- Ability to follow and support organizational adherence to security, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in IT operations, cybersecurity, or related leadership role.
- Experience supporting business technology systems and users.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Sitting, standing, lifting up to 80 lbs. etc.
