Network Engineer Principal (Cloud Strategy & Migration)
We are seeking a Network Engineer Principal to support the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Common Services (CS) at Maxwell Air Force Base – Gunter Annex, Montgomery, AL. This role focuses on cloud strategy and migration within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate.
ResponsibilitiesThe Network Engineer Principal will advise and support work that involves planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked IT systems.
- Analyzing and recommending cloud infrastructure requirements.
- Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.
- Analyzing network workload.
- Monitoring network capacity and performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving network problems.
- Recommending network backup and recovery procedures.
- Installing, testing, maintaining, upgrading network operating systems and software, and ensuring rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies and practices.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other Engineering Discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline, 4 of which must be in the Department of the War; or 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, 8 of which must be in the Department of the War.
- Minimum 2 years experience developing, deploying or maintaining operational cloud (OCI, AWS and/or Azure) environments with emphasis on federal or DoW systems (Gov Cloud, Cloud1).
- CompTIA Security+ Certification (or higher).
- Current Secret clearance.
- Cloud experience (OCI).
- Atlassian Tool suite.
- Agile Development methodologies.
- Service Now.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure – highly desirable.
