Job Summary

C. Martin Company is seeking a detail-oriented Supply/Inventory Technician to support Range Operations and Maintenance activities at the Fort Novosel Gunnery Range Complex in Fort Novosel, AL.

This position performs technical supply management work involving inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization, material coordination, hand receipt management, equipment accountability, work order processing, and supply documentation. The Supply/Inventory Technician supports depot, local, and other supply activities and works under the direct supervision of the Project Manager.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of government supply systems, supply discipline programs, databases, supply policies, nomenclature, manuals, and established procedures. This position requires strong attention to detail, analytical ability, effective communication, and the ability to maintain accurate accountability of government and contractor property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Supply/Inventory Technician will perform duties that include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform technical supply management functions related to inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization.
  • Support depot, local, and other supply activities for the Fort Novosel Gunnery Range Complex.
  • Maintain accountability of decentralized and controlled items, including supplies and equipment assigned to the contractor's primary hand receipt or property administrator.
  • Perform material coordination duties for maintenance based on practical experience processing and expediting supply transactions.
  • Research, write, and maintain item descriptions for new items entering supply channels.
  • Select appropriate material descriptions and cataloging requirements.
  • Review existing stock catalogs, manufacturers' catalogs, drawings, FEDLOG, and other resource materials to identify duplicate items already cataloged or recorded in the supply system.
  • Manage short-term issues and turn-ins using DA Form 3161.
  • Record accountability and inventory of short-term issue inventory.
  • Schedule and conduct semi-annual inventories, sensitive-item inventories, and 10% monthly cyclic inventories.
  • Reconcile inventory balances with the Government Property Administrator to ensure all property is properly accounted for.
  • Prepare shortage annexes and turn-in documents.
  • Prepare items for turn-in through the Consolidated Installation Property Book Office to the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office for disposition.
  • Maintain and update computer-generated master hand receipt and sub-hand receipt files.
  • Initiate and process work orders using DA Form 2407 for Government Furnished Equipment and Contractor Furnished Equipment.
  • Prepare maintenance requests and submit equipment for calibration in accordance with the published Government schedule.
  • Work within established supply regulations, policies, procedures, supply management requirements, and key control guidelines.
  • Collect data, identify supply or accountability issues, and recommend actions based on established guidelines.
  • Support the needs of the organization through timely and accurate supply, inventory, and property accountability functions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Work conditions may vary, though most work is performed indoors.
  • Position may require movement between office, storage, warehouse, and range support areas.
  • Typical work activities include:
    • 25% sitting

    • 5% stooping
    • 10% reaching
    • 10% lifting
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to work safely in a military range, supply, inventory, and property accountability environment.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or Form Flow equivalent.
