A growing wholesale organization in New Castle is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Procurement Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys sourcing a wide variety of products while building strong vendor relationships.
Role OverviewIn this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities and supporting overall business operations. You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams while independently handling purchasing requests across diverse product categories, including tools, hardware, IT equipment, outdoor gear, apparel, vehicles, and more.
Key Responsibilities- Execute procurement activities as part of the Procurement Team
- Research and source products to meet customer requirements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and clients
- Negotiate pricing and terms to maximize value for the company
- Ensure all purchases meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Maintain accurate procurement records using Quick Books, Excel, and Microsoft 365
- Track performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Support warehouse operations when needed (receiving, inventory, shipping)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Associate degree or 4–6 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
- Strong internet research and sourcing skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic business software
- Solid math, organization, and time-management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- High level of integrity and ethical standards
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance (company-sponsored after hire)
- Salary: $50,000 annually (40 hours/week)
