Position: Storeroom / Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Ragland

Primary Function

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all storeroom and warehouse activities to support Maintenance and Operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, strong safety performance, and continuous improvement of warehouse processes. The supervisor actively identifies cost-saving opportunities through inventory optimization, process standardization, and effective use of resources.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities Inventory & Materials Management
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to support operational needs while minimizing excess stock and carrying costs.
  • Oversee cycle count programs and coordinate annual physical inventories to ensure inventory accuracy and accountability.
  • Review, approve, and initiate reorders in accordance with established inventory control procedures.
  • Track rebuildable and repairable equipment to ensure proper visibility, availability, and cost control.
  • Warehouse Operations
  • Supervise daily receiving, storage, and distribution activities to ensure materials are handled safely, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
  • Assign and schedule warehouse personnel to meet workload demands and operational priorities.
  • Conduct routine walkthroughs of all storerooms and warehouses to ensure organization, cleanliness, security, and compliance with company standards.
  • Enforce warehouse systems, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Lead warehouse safety programs to provide a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed and that equipment is properly maintained and fit for use.
  • Promote a culture of safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement within the storeroom and warehouse areas.
  • Leadership & Employee Development
  • Train, coach, and develop warehouse employees to ensure consistent performance and adherence to procedures.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work activities for assigned personnel.
  • Conduct performance evaluations; recognize achievements and address performance or behavioral issues as needed.
  • Resolve employee concerns and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Continuous Improvement & Support
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within storeroom operations.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, and Purchasing to ensure material availability aligns with production and maintenance requirements.
  • Other Duties and Responsibilities

    Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant objectives.

    Job Requirements
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with prior experience managing warehouse or storeroom personnel.
  • Solid understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to train and develop employees.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders; reach, squat, bend, push, pull, and lift objects of various sizes and weights.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment, hand controls, and foot pedals.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to varying temperatures and high noise levels.
  • Preferred experience using JDE / Oracle ERP systems for inventory control, purchasing, and materials management (JDE is the primary system used).
