We are currently seeking:
Preconstruction Manager
Job Summary:
The Preconstruction Manager will collect and analyze information to estimate costs of products and services for assigned projects. In addition, the Preconstruction Manager shall develop and strengthen relationships with our vendor, subcontractors, and clients to promote and grow our business.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Job site visits when appropriate and assemble After Action Report (AAR)
- Ensure deadlines are met both for review and submittal of proposals.
- Fill out Tusco Prebid Scope Checklist in a complete and accurate manners.
- Fill out Tusco Prebid Scope and socialize this information.
- Estimate project with 100% bid validation including quantity take-off, vendor solicitation and subcontractor solicitation.
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractor to ensure we have the necessary proposals for a complete and comprehensive proposal.
- Plan and prepare for pre-bid strategy meetings.
- Review completed bids (both Bid Estimate Form and Commercial Proposal) with Director of Preconstruction
- Attend and actively participate in the weekly Preconstruction meetings.
- Ensure information on Master Bid & Sales Log is current and accurate.
- Ensure information on Follow Up CRM is current, accurate and complete.
- Discuss sales strategy with Director of Preconstruction, Director of Physical Security and Director of Business Development on current estimates.
- Responsible for all Follow up calls, communication with customers and closing the sale of recently submitted bids / proposals.
- Responsible for following Preconstruction Procedures’ timelines.
- Notify Director of Preconstruction of sales so that the project setup process and handoff can be completed in a timely manner.
Preconstruction:
- Upon project setup of any awarded project, ensure all appropriate information is set up properly in Project file for smooth transition and turnover to Project Management and Operations Team.
- Review and approve scope portion of Contract or Purchase Order (PO) with Director of Operations and other QAQC Managers
- Meet with Director of Preconstruction for assembly of Master Tracking Form on all projects.
- Responsible for preparing agenda and supporting documents for Turnover Meeting to assigned Project Manager and Operations Team
Change Orders:
- Support Project Management as required with document review, assembly, and submittal of change order(s). Including quantity takeoff and pricing solicitation from vendors and subcontractors
- Review proposed change orders with Director of Preconstruction
- Submit to Project Management and Director of Physical Security for final review and approval.
Other:
- Make suggestions to senior management for any improvements to the estimating/preconstruction/sales process.
- Assist with Preconstruction team’s productivity and motivate same to reach daily/weekly/monthly goals.
- Develop goals with assistance of Director of Preconstruction for leads, bids, and sales.
- Take ownership of all tasks and take initiative to go above and beyond what is asked.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bluebeam or similar software for Estimating quantities.
- Follow Up CRM or similar software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of CAD and or Revit is beneficial.
- Self-motivated.
- Travel as needed.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction, Engineering, Business, or related job experience
- Three years of related experience preferred.
