The Wellness Center Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, engaging, and appropriate fitness and wellness programming. This role oversees the management of programs, membership, volunteer and staff recruitment and development, fundraising, and collaborations with community agencies in meeting the needs of its members and program participants. The Director is accountable for daily execution, including program delivery, staff supervision, member experience, site-level operations, athletic programs and ensure consistent implementation of organizational programs, policies, and procedures.
EssentialFunctions
- Ensure growth in membership sales and recruitment.
- Responsible for budgeting, expense control, & income within organizational guidelines.
- Manage monthly reporting, including payroll, member billing, and collections.
- Oversight of all program areas – scheduling, innovative strategies, and health initiatives.
- Recruit, develop, monitor, and train staff for various programs.
- Maintain and monitor the cleanliness and safety of the facility.
- Facilitate communication among staff, members, and community of all programs and opportunities available.
- Ensure programs and facilities are run in a safe manner by monitoring policy needs and safety checks.
- Assist with annual promotion plan for all programs, including flyers, brochures, website, newsletter, news releases, advertisements, etc.
- Assist with initiatives and special projects related to the Wellness Center.
- Other duties as assigned.
- 2-4 years of experience in a related field
- Experience supervising staff or leading programs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with members, staff, and community partners
- Experience in a nonprofit or community organization.
- Familiarity with safety standards related to fitness and recreation.
- Experience working with diverse populations and community partners.
This role requires daily on-site presence and active engagement with members and staff in a fast-paced environment. The Director must be responsive to real-time operational needs while maintaining a safe, structured, welcoming, and positive environment. The position may require standing for extended periods, participating in activities, lifting up to 50 pounds, and responding to the active nature of the role.
