Vice President, Management

The Vice President serves as the College's chief operating executive and second-in-command, providing strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and operational direction across the institution. The Vice President acts on the President's behalf during the President's absence and serves as a key member of the President's executive leadership team. This position provides executive oversight for instructional services, workforce development, adult education, student affairs, institutional effectiveness, grants, information services, distance education, community engagement, and off-campus instructional sites.

The Vice President ensures these areas operate effectively, align with the College's mission and strategic priorities, comply with Alabama Community College System (ACCS) policies, and support continuous institutional improvement. The Vice President also provides strategic leadership for instructional programs and workforce development initiatives by fostering innovative academic programming, strengthening business and industry partnerships, and ensuring educational offerings respond to regional workforce and economic development needs.

The President may assign additional duties and responsibilities as necessary to support the College's mission and operational needs.

• Serves as the President's designee and assumes executive leadership responsibilities in the President's absence.
• Represents the President at College, community, governmental, and professional functions as assigned.
• Serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and other College committees.
• Provides executive leadership and supervision for assigned divisions, including instructional services, workforce development, student affairs, institutional effectiveness, information services, adult education, grants, community engagement, and other administrative areas as assigned.
• Directly supervises the Dean of Instruction, Dean of Students, Chief Financial Officer, and other administrators as assigned.
• Advises the President on institutional policies, strategic initiatives, operational priorities, and major administrative decisions.
• Develops, recommends, and implements institutional policies, procedures, and operational practices consistent with ACCS policies and applicable laws.
• Promotes collaboration and effective communication among divisions to ensure efficient operations and achievement of institutional goals.
• Ensures the timely flow of information between assigned divisions, the President, and executive leadership.
• Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality, integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.

• Provides strategic leadership for all instructional programs, workforce development initiatives, adult education, related studies, and instructional support services.
• Develops and implements innovative workforce development strategies that position the College as a regional leader in workforce education and training.
• Identifies, develops, and expands workforce training opportunities, industry partnerships, grants, and external funding sources that support institutional priorities.
• Ensures instructional programs remain aligned with regional workforce needs, labor market demands, industry standards, and the College's strategic plan.
• Oversees the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of academic and workforce programs.
• Collaborates with business, industry, government agencies, and community partners to strengthen educational opportunities and workforce initiatives.
• Recommends new academic and workforce programs based on workforce trends and community needs.

• Assists the President in long-range institutional planning, strategic initiatives, and continuous quality improvement.
• Oversees institutional effectiveness processes, planning, assessment, and evaluation activities.
• Ensures compliance with ACCS policies, accreditation standards, federal and state regulations, and applicable College policies.
• Serves as the official institutional representative with the Council on Occupational Education (COE) and oversees accreditation compliance and reporting.
• Provides leadership for maintaining institutional accreditation, certifications, and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in preparing institutional reports required by ACCS, accrediting agencies, and other governmental entities.
