Job SummaryWe are seeking a 2nd Shift Pit Loader Operator at our Lacey’s Spring Quarry in Lacey’s Spring, AL. The operator reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for leading safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout operations.
Job Details- Wages dependent on verifiable experience
- 2nd Shift (3:00 PM–12:00 AM)
- $3.00 night shift differential
- Full‑time / Permanent
- Weekend work may be required
- Overtime available with medical and retirement benefits
- Learn and implement Rogers Group’s safety culture and safety principles without compromise
- Operate front‑end loader to move and load shot rock, crushed stone, or overburden safely and efficiently
- Maintain a consistent feed to the plant/crusher while minimizing downtime and spillage
- Perform plant maintenance and cleanup as needed
- Perform daily pre‑shift inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues or needed repairs
- Assist with maintaining haul roads, loading areas, and stockpiles to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
- Communicate effectively with the plant operator, haul truck drivers, and other pit personnel using radios and hand signals
- May be called upon as the supervisor in charge to perform any other duties assigned or to assist with other areas of the operation as necessary
- High School Diploma or GED required
- General mechanical knowledge
- Ability to maintain safe working conditions
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or different shifts as production requires; overtime is not guaranteed
- Self‑starter, ability to work without close supervision
- Physical ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift/move up to 50 lb. as needed
- Previous experience in a mining environment preferred
- Willingness to cross‑train and assist in other areas of the operation as needed
- Must pass pre‑employment drug screening
- Overtime is required as needed and may include Saturdays
