CompanyAstemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. We are located in Rock Spring, GA, and operate on 3 shifts with 400 employees. We have three main manufacturing departments, Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly. We are part of Astemo, inc. with 90,000 employees worldwide.
Tasks And Responsibilities- This management position is responsible for managing, directing, planning of the operating processes to produce quality products for use in automotive or power sport vehicles in ONE of the following Departments:
- Brake Components - Various other assembly operations.
- Aluminum Products Knuckle Casting, Knuckle Machining and Knuckle Assembly operations
- Safety Environmental, Health and Safety
- When accomplishing all tasks, work toward meeting overall company goals established which include OSHA safety compliance, ISO 14001 Environmental Compliance, Ethical & Legal compliance, Customer Quality, Production to Plan, and Delivery Performance.
- Promotes a safety-first attitude and ensures a safe work environment by ensuring associates have obtained the knowledge and are following all required OSHA regulations which may or may not include Personal Protective Equipment, LOTO, Crane, Powered Lifts, Machine Guarding, Chemicals, Fall Protection, Fire Protection, Incident reporting, Respirator, Hearing conservation, Confined Spaces, and others.
- Ensures that work areas have safe and clean working conditions.
- Corrects unsafe work conditions immediately.
- Supports goals of Safety and Environment Group.
- Ensures the in process and the final product meets customer and NBG quality specifications.
- Ensures that work instructions and point cards are followed and communicates appropriately and immediately when quality issues occur.
- Supports goals of Quality Group.
- Responsible for accurate record keeping.
- Ensures completion or planned production quantities as required for delivery on time to customer.
- Supports goals of Materials Group.
- Ensures planned production is achieved.
- Resolves issues in a timely manner.
- Provides effective work instructions.
- Promotes teamwork and a team environment.
- Prevents interruptions to workflow and productivity.
- Suggests improvements to productivity, quality, safety, process, etc.
- Daily, monthly, quarterly reporting for the assigned department / area of responsibility- SDCDM
- Prepares and reports annual business plan to meet company objectives.
- Prepares and reports on department/ area budget items.
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication, internal and external customers, and associates.
- Familiar with manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel applied skills.
- Previous management in related field.
- 3 + years of experience in manufacturing/plant operations
- 3 + years of previous supervisor experience
- Be familiar with Microsoft Suite
- Strong leadership qualities include the ability to build teams and influence at all levels of the organization, a keen business acumen, professional competence and personal integrity.
- Ability to interpret and analyze KPI

- BA or BS Management or Equivalent Experience./ BSME or Equivalent Experience

- Meets or exceeds department business plan targets.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, to use hand to finger; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Occasionally required to walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.
- Requires regular lifting of weights up to 5 pounds and occasional lifting up to 40 pounds.
