Position Overview
Supervisor, Casting – Manager II, Production, Casting Department, Full Time, Exempt. Reports to Manager I, Production. Salary Per Experience. Direct reports 30–45.
Astemo Rock Spring, Inc. was established in 2000 and supplies aluminum knuckles to Honda and Subaru. The company is located in Rock Spring, GA, operates on 3 shifts with 400 employees across Casting, Machining, and Press Assembly.
Key Responsibilities- Lead manufacturing efforts in production of quality products for automotive or power sport vehicles.
- Encourage a safety-first mindset and maintain OSHA compliance.
- Ensure daily counts are complete and accurate; understand previous shifts DT and production issues.
- Update and report BPS Board progress (parts, DT minutes, quality losses).
- Work overtime as needed to supply customer parts and schedule manpower via Paycom.
- Train new line leaders to job standards.
- Ensure daily production targets are met; report missed targets and reasons.
- Engage in daily line issue reporting and communicate to all levels of management.
- Develop solutions to problems effectively and efficiently.
- Maintain attendance below 1 point and set example.
- Coach and counsel line leaders and associates timely and accurately.
- Gather information and conduct "5 WHY" reporting when customer issues arise.
- Promote safety-first attitude; provide training and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Maintain safe and clean work areas; correct unsafe conditions immediately.
- Complete incident reports promptly.
- Lead team to meet customer and company quality specifications.
- Ensure work instructions and point cards are followed; communicate quality issues promptly.
- Promote STOP, CALL, WAIT mentality.
- Use BPS boards to communicate quality problems.
- Lead team to complete planned production quantities.
- Collect and complete all shift paperwork accurately.
- Run lines through breaks and lunches as needed based on shipment.
- Report all assembly-related issues daily.
- Achieve planned production quantities through communication, adherence to work instructions, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Prevent interruptions to workflow and suggest improvements to productivity, quality, safety.
- Participate in line rotation when needed.
- Report safety incidents, near misses, equipment or quality concerns, workflow interruptions.
- Complete shift and production tracking paperwork; report BPS boards hourly.
- Investigate and present "5 WHY" reports to management.
- Good problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Familiar with manufacturing concepts and practices.
- Ability to develop solutions.
- Previous experience in related field.
- Management training offered by Astemo Rock Spring.

- Perfect attendance.
- Regular standing; hand‑to‑finger handling; walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing.
- Lifting up to 20 pounds regularly; up to 40 pounds occasionally.
