Production Operator – Rocky Creek Facility, Frisco City, AL
Georgia-Pacific’s Rocky Creek Lumber facility is seeking a Production Operator. The role involves learning multiple operator functions in the woodyard and/or sawmill areas. Current production operators start at $20.00 per hour, with potential increases based on experience. The position requires 12‑hour rotating shifts (5:45 am–6:00 pm days or 5:45 pm–6:00 am nights).
What You Will Do- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies and procedures while proactively seeking out potential safety hazards.
- Perform housekeeping functions to keep machinery running smoothly, reduce safety and fire hazards, maintain environmental controls, and preserve plant appearance.
- Cross‑train on production and mobile equipment to advance knowledge, skills, compensation, and advancement to an operator position.
- Work in various areas of the woodyard to meet or exceed facility and company production and quality goals.
- Collaborate as a team to meet or exceed production and quality goals while minimizing waste.
- Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and pulling for up to 12 hours a day and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing required safety equipment.
- Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment, with rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- A minimum of six months of work experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, farming, carpentry, construction, landscaping, production, or military environment.
- One year of previous manufacturing experience.
- Experience troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in lumber or wood products.
