Job OverviewAs a Machining Maintenance Technician at Astemo Rock Spring, you will play a vital role in the maintenance and reliability of our machining equipment. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will minimize downtime, implement preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot equipment issues to maintain optimal performance.
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment according to established schedules and procedures.
- Conduct inspections, cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and other preventive maintenance tasks to extend machine life.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve malfunctions, performing repairs and adjustments as necessary.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Complete maintenance documentation, including work orders, equipment records, and repair logs.
- Coordinate equipment setup and changeovers with production teams to ensure smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, providing suggestions for process enhancements and participating in projects to optimize equipment performance.
- Stay updated on new technologies, best practices, and industry trends in machining maintenance.
- Support the company’s safety, environmental, and quality objectives, including OSHA compliance, ISO 14001, and customer quality requirements.
- Provide regular updates to the Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvements implemented.
- Assist in data gathering and analysis for reporting purposes.
Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures, promote lockout/tagout protocols, and support environmental initiatives in compliance with relevant regulations.
QualityCollaborate with the Quality Assurance team to ensure machining processes meet quality standards and report any quality‑related concerns.
DeliveryWork closely with production teams to maintain smooth operation and on‑time delivery of machined components, responding promptly to maintenance requests.
ProductivityIdentify opportunities for productivity improvements, collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor, and implement measures that increase efficiency and optimize resource utilization.
ReportingProvide accurate and timely reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvements to support data‑driven decision making.
Preferred Skills- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills for efficient maintenance and repairs.
- Experience conducting routine maintenance and troubleshooting in a machining environment.
- Knowledge of machining equipment, tools, and technologies.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow maintenance procedures precisely.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in equipment maintenance or a related field, with familiarity of maintenance practices in a machining environment.
- Basic understanding of machining processes and equipment maintenance requirements.
- Ability to follow instructions, work in a fast‑paced environment, and adapt to changing priorities.

Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, stand for extended periods, perform physically demanding tasks, and occasionally lift heavy objects.
