Job Summary
As a FSQA Tech you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Performing physical and visual inspections of products and plant systems.
- Documenting and calculating results accurately.
- Taking corrective action when necessary, such as alerting appropriate personnel to adjust processes, identifying, segregating, and isolating non‑conforming products, and reporting results to management.
- Handling additional assignments as requested.
- Environment:
Normal for a food manufacturing setting. - Physical Requirements:
Involves lifting materials and products up to 75 pounds; must stand on a hard surface for up to 12 hours per day; lift up to 75 lbs; work in temperatures ranging from 30 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit; work in a wet environment; repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing, and pulling; reach high and low levels frequently; climb step ladders or stairs;
work overtime and weekends as needed;
Position will require Lock Out Tag Out certification. - Safety Equipment:
Use of steel‑toed work boots, hard hats, safety glasses (where required), hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), and smocks. Cell phones and jewelry are not permitted on the factory floor.
- Education:
High school diploma or GED. - Experience:
Minimum of 1 year experience in the food manufacturing industry or related QA type experience. - Communication:
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Special
Skills:
Must possess skills to complete Tyson paperwork; ability to lead by example and motivate the hourly workforce; good problem identification and problem‑solving skills; math and organizational skills; ability to read and interpret product specifications; must function well under stress; must have flexibility to work where and when needed. - Physical:
Must be willing and able to lift up to 75 lbs, stand on hard surface for up to 12 hours per day, work in 30‑90°F temperatures, work in wet environment, perform repetitive bending, reaching, squatting, gripping, pushing, pulling, reach high and low levels, climb ladders or stairs, work overtime and weekends as needed, and must have Lock Out Tag Out certification.
