Summary
Provides day‑to‑day leadership of assigned areas. Supervises employees and maintains safety, quality, efficiency, throughput, and on‑time performance to schedule. Works with the site management team to execute daily production plan, site initiatives, and company initiatives. Supports initiatives to improve the customers’ business. Continually improves all aspects of the assigned area.
Core Functions- Follows and enforces all plant safety procedures and uses all applicable personal protective gear, ensuring safety goals are achieved and safety performance continually improves.
- Performs periodic Job Safety Analysis reviews and documents near‑miss or accident reports.
- Develops team through constant on‑the‑job training and coaching.
- Promotes daily huddles with direct reports and ensures participation by all team members.
- Drives and leads continuous improvement activities to improve safety, quality, on‑time performance, and site key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Utilizes visual methods in daily operations, including safety, quality, and on‑time performance to schedule and site KPIs.
- Promotes development of current and future team leaders in preparation for higher levels of leadership.
- Ensures all quality control checks are completed and all quality issues are investigated, root causes are determined, and corrective actions implemented.
- Conducts interviews for positions within the site.
- Monitors team performance and implements goals to improve overall team performance.
- Understands and communicates local financials and the team's impact on the financials.
- Coaches all team members to improve their improvement mindset, job duties, and safety.
- Identifies and mentors high‑potential team members for future leadership roles.
- Resolves conflicts between people, shifts, departments, and sites.
- Motivates the team to hit and exceed goals, addressing concerns or issues promptly.
- Appraises performance of employee owners within the assigned area and conducts annual performance evaluations.
- Monitors the assigned area’s hourly performance against KPIs and takes corrective action as needed.
- Manages cost control and understands financial impacts such as overtime, scrap, and lost production time.
- Shares safety, OSHA, and regulatory controls with the team.
- Trains and drives operational principles such as 5‑S, waste elimination, production scheduling, and removal of non‑quality costs.
- Plans and balances overtime based on workload, schedules, and position.
- Detail‑oriented and customer‑oriented.
- Ability to read a tape measure, perform basic math, and use a calculator.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Thrives in a high‑paced environment.
- Prioritizes tasks and delegates appropriately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Identifies deficiencies and troubleshoots effectively.

- Minimum two‑year degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of experience in a leadership role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
