Shipping and Packaging Assistant - 1st Shift

The Shipping and Packaging associate is responsible for packaging products and preparing them for shipping both locally and internationally.

• Identify work procedures; prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.
• Issue written and oral instruction to the shipping floor.
• Standardize procedures to ensure efficiency of workers.
• Ensure correct shipment of orders.
• Assist employees with packaging and shipping issues.
• Ensure materials shipped match records, manifests, invoices, or orders.
• Record shipment data, such as weight and dimensions, very accurate piece counts, train new hires, maintain updated safety reports.
• Work daily with Inspection, Quality, Manufacturing and Production Control to maintain on time delivery of shipments.
• Prepare documents, including but not limited to, work order updates, crate packing lists, and update daily production control shipping matrix for AM meeting.

• High school degree or equivalent, and one year of related experience and/or training in the field.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday - Friday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm. Must be available for overtime and work weekends when necessary.
