E&I, Operations​/Maintenance Mechanic Intern

Intern – Electrical & Instrumentation, Operations, or Maintenance

Location:

Georgia-Pacific Alabama River Cellulose facility.

Work schedule:

24 hours per week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

• Assist operators with inspection, data collection, and reliability-based equipment care tasks, as well as sample collection and quality testing.
• Support plant operations to safely produce, store, and ship products by completing safety and environmental checks and contributing to a culture of safety, accountability, and environmental compliance.
• Partner with operators, maintenance, and engineering to troubleshoot or repair equipment or plant issues.
• Learn and apply safe work practices within a manufacturing environment.
• Shadow Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) and Mechanical teams during routine preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting calls.
• Work at heights up to 100 feet, climb stairs/ladders, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull up to 150 lbs., work outdoors in all weather, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical & Instrumentation, Operations, or Maintenance program.

• Experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
