Role Description The Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Sumiton, AL. The CNC Machinist will set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce precision parts for hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, systems, and components. Day-to-day responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, selecting appropriate tooling and materials, performing machining operations such as milling and turning, and monitoring machines for proper operation.

The role involves inspecting finished parts to ensure they meet quality and tolerance specifications, adjusting programs and setups as needed, and maintaining a safe, clean work environment. The CNC Machinist will collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to meet production schedules and support repair and custom design projects.
Qualifications

  • Strong skills in CNC Machine Operation and general Machinery handling, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in Machining and Milling processes, with experience working to close tolerances on metal components.
  • Experience in Quality Control, including measurement, inspection, and documentation of part compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic components or willingness to learn fluid power systems.
  • Commitment to workplace safety, proper use of PPE, and adherence to company safety procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant vocational training or certification in machining or manufacturing technology; prior CNC machinist experience in an industrial setting preferred.
