Makes, repairs and maintains jigs, fixtures, dies, molds, machine tools, cutting tools, gauges, and

other tools used in manufacturing processes.

STARTING PAY $33.00, with potential for a higher rate based on experience and qualifications.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Adhere to policies, daily work place organization & housekeeping; health and safety commitment; personal cleanliness & appearance; attendance & punctuality and 100% first time quality commitment.
  • Repair production assembly equipment.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on jigs, fixtures, gages, dies, etc.
  • Support of start-up and dies equipment.
  • Make required gages, tools, jigs, fixture, etc.
  • Document the executed work in the EDP-system.
  • Run the Toolshop with all regarding machines like, mills, drill-press, lathes, grinders, etc.
  • In addition to the duties, the job holder is subject to the instructions of all management to achieve orders belonging to his function or arise from operational necessity.
  • Works from engineering drawings.
  • Manufacture tools and parts from engineering drawings.
  • Support production for troubleshooting.
  • Conduct duties in a safe manner, follow all safety procedures, report incidents immediately, wears proper PPE and conducts duties to their level of training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and works directly with the staff in the Maintenance department. This position has a communication relationship with all department managers and other employees in the BAL Operations department.

COMPETENCIES / EXPERIENCE
  • High level working knowledge of mills, lathes, drill-presses, manual welding, surface grinders, and heat treatment of metal, and all other typical Toolshop machines and tools is a must.
  • Must be able to read mechanical and blue print diagrams.
  • Working knowledge of gear drives, belt alignment, and experience working with machine shop
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • Preferred 5+ years’ experience as a toolmaker
  • Preferred 3 years’ experience within maintenance
  • Must have a certification in TIG and MIG
  • Must have good documentation skills.
  • Must have the ability to read drawings and prepare own drawings.
  • Must be able to work weekends and extended shifts as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours.
