- Lead the 2nd Shift Assembly team to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee morale objectives
- Manage team safety, product quality, productivity, cost, and employee morale
- Plan and adjust labor to achieve production schedules and ensure on-time shipments
- Coach, mentor, train, and develop team leaders and team members
- Address team member concerns and provide coaching and counseling when necessary
- Collaborate with support functions to solve safety, quality, and production problems and drive improvements
- Collect, analyze, and report operational data
- Analyze workflow, line balancing, and efficiency to continuously improve processes and procedures
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Lead the department in the absence of the Assembly Manager
- Support the Annual Operating Plan and performance and cost expectations
- Reduce safety risks and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Report accidents and incidents
- Perform other duties assigned by Operations Management
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing organization
- Automotive experience is a plus
- Leadership, coaching, process management, and process improvement skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations, make sound decisions, and meet tight timelines
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- Ability to implement Lean manufacturing principles and methods
Demonstrates strong leadership and coaching abilities to manage and develop assembly teams while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity in a manufacturing environment. Proficient in implementing Lean manufacturing principles and analyzing operational data to drive continuous improvement.
