FITTER

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a skilled Fitter for a company based in Jemison, AL. In this role you should be capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings to assemble, fit, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and experience using hand and power tools in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Pay Rate $23.25 per hour.

Schedule and Hours Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am until 4:30 pm;
Fridays 6:00 am until 2:30 pm;
Saturdays— as needed.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Measure, mark, and layout materials according to specifications.
• Assemble and fit metal components, structures, and equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, and measuring instruments.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Perform tack welding as required (if qualified).
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with welders, fabricators, and supervisors to meet production goals.

• Previous experience as a fitter, fabricator, or similar manufacturing role.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Experience using measuring devices and fabrication tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

• Experience in structural steel, pipe fitting, or metal fabrication.
• Welding experience or certification.
