Senior Pastor | or Bivocational

Purpose

The Senior Pastor is the primary spiritual leader and chief administrator of the church. He is responsible for proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, providing visionary and administrative leadership, delivering pastoral care to the congregation and community, and overseeing pastor(s) and staff.

Supervised by:
Deacons and the church family.

• Prepare for and lead worship services, including the observance of church ordinances (baptisms, Lord’s Supper, etc.).
• Preach clear, engaging, God-honoring, Gospel-centered biblical expositions with relevant application.
• Lead the church in proclaiming the gospel to the congregation and the surrounding community.

• Provide overall administrative leadership for the total church program.
• Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the church’s ministries.
• Supervise all other church staff members.
• Cooperate with associational, state, and denominational leaders while keeping the church informed of relevant developments.
• Maintain a regular program of study and maintain office hours

• Provide pastoral care through the visitation of church members and community relationships
• Offer pastoral counseling on marriage, family, grief, crisis, and spiritual matters, providing biblical wisdom and encouragement.
• Visit and engage the community as a representative of the church.

• Character & Spirituality:
  Demonstrates a servant’s heart and fulfills the biblical qualifications of an elder/overseer (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Peter 5:1-5). Maintains a strong devotional life of worship, prayer, and study of Scripture, resulting in deepening Christ-likeness and the fruit of the Spirit.
• Doctrine & Ministry:
  Ordained with significant pastoral and preaching experience. Possesses sound biblical doctrine, clear theological understanding, and a passionate devotion to Christ and His church.

  Proven ability to preach engaging, faithful, and applicable expository sermons.

  Demonstrates strong administrative and managerial competence. Exhibits humility, wisdom, integrity, and unity as a leader. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to all age groups, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate effectively with Associate Pastors and Deacons.
