Wound Care​/Treatment Nurse ( RN

Sumter Health and Rehabilitation, LLC is seeking applicants for Treatment / Wound Care Nurse, RN.

• Current RN license by State required with experience in long‐term care or working with the geriatric population preferred.
• Wound care or treatment certifications in the state where the specific duties are performed is preferred but we will certify the right applicants.

• Oversee all direct wound care activities to assure practices are consistent.
• Identify, plan, implement, and evaluate skin care in residents.
• Manage and treat specific skin disorders.
• Coordinate weekly skin rounds.
• Perform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation and inspection.
• Confer with the Care Planning Team in the development of the care plan.
• Provide treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocol.
• Monitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning, and positioning.
• Precept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing personnel.
• Order and track the usage of supplies and equipment in prevention and treatment.
• Assist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, regulatory guidelines, and the policies and goals of this facility.
• Provide information to residents and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the resident.
