Registered Nurse

Naph Care is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of medical professionals in Alex City, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for the incarcerated individuals in the Alex City Work Release Center.

• Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals.
• Monitor and document patient health, including vital signs and medical histories.
• Provide direct patient care, triage, assess patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
• Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes.
• Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and ensure timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities.
• Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention.
• Understand and adhere to correctional facility security protocols while working closely with correctional officers and other healthcare professionals to ensure safety and well‑being of patients.
• Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information.

• Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of AL.
• Possesses an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required).
• Keeps knowledge of nursing practice principles, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable healthcare laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services.
• Exhibits excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Has a flexible schedule and availability to work overtime when needed.
• Can interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information, upholds a Code of Conduct, and complies with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Passes the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.

Must be able to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR, while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
