RN - Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab - Day Shift

Position Overview

• Department: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Schedules Available: Day shifts only
  • 3x12's, 6 days call every 5 weeks
  • 4x10's, 8 days call every 5 weeks
  • 5x8's, 8 days call every 5 weeks
  • PRN as needed
• Work Location: UAB St Vincent's Birmingham

The Cardiac Cath Lab at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham provides expert cardiac care in an outpatient setting utilizing cutting‑edge technology with three fully equipped cath labs and two non-invasive labs. We offer a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including heart catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), as well as advanced imaging techniques such as intravascular ultrasound (IVUS, OCT) and functional assessments (FFR/iFR).

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll work in an environment where your expertise can make a lasting impact.

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required.

1+ year RN experience strongly preferred.
