MPS Group, Inc.,is seeking a
Compliance & Safety Manager
to join our team at the
Mercedes Benz US International facility located in
Vance, AL. This individual will execute and enforce the corporate occupational health and safety policies and procedures to promote and ensure effective safety management and operations for this site.
Job Duties:
- Prepare and maintain the ‘Site-Specific Operations and Safety Plan’ (SSOSP).
- Ensure delivery of corporate health and safety training to all newly hired personnel, and recurrent training for existing personnel.
- Validate employee training, knowledge, skills and competency by conducting Safety Observation Tours.
- Develop and deliver specific training to affected personnel, as job requires.
- Mentor and enforce on-the-job safety requirements, including regulations, customer requirements, company policies, procedures and protocols.
- Prepare, amend and maintain ‘Task Instruction Sheets’ (TIS’).
- Conduct various and routine site safety briefings and meetings with management and field staff.
- Conduct various audits to identify and control hazardous workplace conditions:
Safety Observation Tours’, equipment inspections, and compliance audits against SSOSP and TIS requirements. - Perform respirator fit testing, as trained and required.
- Prepare incident reports and conduct proper investigations, including safety stand down meetings, final incident investigation reports, root cause analysis and corrective actions, as trained and required.
- Assist in the assessment and procurement of safety supplies, equipment, small tools and services needed to ensure ample supplies are available and in good working condition (ex. air monitors, fall protection and retrieval equipment, respirators, lock-out/tag-out equipment, etc.).
- Participate in operational planning meetings and job site walk-throughs as appropriate to ensure hazards are identified and controlled.
- Train and qualify employees on powered industrial equipment, such as fork trucks, burden carriers, electric pallet lifts, industrial carts, etc.
- Run SSRS reports on employees to ensure they are current with medical monitoring requirements, safety training requirements and equipment permitting requirements.
- Routinely report out to site leadership on effectiveness of the site safety program.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 (five) years of occupational health and safety experience in an industrial environment.
- Industry-specific training preferred (ex. OSHA 10/30-Hour, HAZWOPER, RCRA, DOT-Haz Mat, Confined Space Rescue, First Aid/CPR, Fire Safety, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office:
Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree in health, safety, environmental or related field.
